You have two minutes to match numbers. Three in a row is enough, four in a row is great, move fast to get the high score.

Mechanics

You get a 4x4 grid filled with the numbers 1 to 4 that you can flip in only one direction. Pressing A turns a 1 into a 2, a 2 into a 3, etc. But you’re only allowed to flip a number if it results in a line of three matching numbers (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). All matching numbers will be replaced with new ones and it’s up to you to find more.

Modes

  • Normal mode – Chase the high score for 2 minutes
  • Hard mode – Chase the high score for 2 minutes… with a twist
  • Endless – No score, no pressure, just slugs

Controls

  • D-pad to navigate
  • A to flip numbers
  • Hold B to get a hint

Themes

You get to choose between latin numbers, letters, and roman numerals.

Really enjoying this so far, but FYI I think I found a small bug. It seems that when I launch the game, view the tutorial, and then start a game, it won't let me flip a 4 into a 1. Quitting and relaunching, and playing a game without viewing the tutorial solves it.

Thanks a lot for the report. I could only reproduce this once so I updated the tutorial to no longer affect the main game. That should fix it. 🤞

Wow that was fast! Looks to be fixed on my end.

The clicks of the numbers are so lovely.

enjoying this little puzzle game

I'm new to Playdate and itch.io, so forgive if a dumb question, but how would one download the current game?  It says "Published 1 day ago", but I don't see a Download link on this page...  Thank you!

Thanks for your comment. I accidentally hid the file while uploading a small update. It’s back up now. :)

Ah!  Thanks!
